Laboratory tests
The Central Asian Institute for Ecological Research and the Caspian seal Research and Rehabilitation Center conducted the fifth expedition to study the population of the Red book animal. Laboratory studies of environmental samples taken in the Caspian Sea are currently being conducted.
Studies have been conducted for the presence of pollution, heavy metals and organic substances.
The pH, the level of dissolved oxygen in water, electrical conductivity and salinity (mineralization) and a number of other parameters are also determined.
