The sixth expedition to study the population of the Caspian seal

From September 8 to 11, 2022, the Center for the Study and Rehabilitation of the Caspian Seal and the Central Asian Institute for Ecological Research (CAIEI) conducted the next sixth scientific expedition to study the state and habitat of the Caspian seal population in the Kazakhstani part of the Caspian Sea.
The studies were carried out in Komsomolets Bay, Durneva Island, Shalytau, Kiyakty, Taushyk, Atash, Bautino.
During the expedition, vessel observations of the Caspian seal were also carried out along the route of the vessel: the port of Bautino – Komsomolets Bay.
Based on the results of the trip, samples of sea water, bottom sediments were taken, and meteorological parameters were measured. All samples were transferred to the CAIEI laboratory.
