The world’s leading researcher of seals and walruses plans to study the Caspian seal.

Daniel Costa participated in an online meeting of the Scientific Council of the Center for the Study and Rehabilitation of the Caspian Seal.

During the meeting, options for cooperation between The Costa Lab were discussed.

On behalf of the Center, the following participants took part in the negotiations: Aselle Tasmagambetova, Ecologist, Chairman of the Scientific Council, Founder of the Central Asian Institute for Environmental Research, Adylkhan Tovasarov, Deputy Chairman of the Scientific Council, Ph.D., Altynai Kaidarova, Chief Researcher of the Center, Doctor of Technical Sciences.

Aselle Tasmagambetova presented a report on the current state of the Caspian seal and the programs of the Center for their preservation, Altynai Kaidarova spoke about working with advanced wearable sensors for monitoring marine animals.

Professor Costa expressed his readiness to cooperate with the Center for the Study and Rehabilitation of the Caspian Seal and provided a number of recommendations that will help to more effectively analyze data on the life environment of Caspian seals.
